History of Temeraire Temeraire is the Man O'War immortalised in William Turner's mystical painting "The Last Voyage of the Fighting Temeraire". Temeraire was part of Nelson's fleet at the Battle of Trafalgar. She played a vital role in drawing French fire from the Victory and thus saving Nelson's flagship. It was a history that fascinated teacher Suzanne Walsh and she dedicated the name to her kennel prefix which she registered in 1972. Temeraire has established an enviable reputation in English Setters, though the breeding program has been limited. Stock from this kennel has been sort after by breeders, and the finest bloodlines have been introduced to maintain a vibrant and successful gene pool. Careful research and development has seen imported bloodlines used as required and the ratio of puppies to champions is staggering. In fact to date 22 Temeraire offsping have gained Championship title status and the future assures that more will be added. Please note we are selective in our breeding / stud requirements and will, on request, forward pedigree information.
